The Problem
Professionals athletes have a very busy schedule. From practice, to games, to marketing and charity events, time is of the essence. It’s very easy for a player to forget about activities that are out of the scope of their daily routine. Most athletes are their own personal assistance and organization across platforms can be difficult. Athletes are anywhere from 21 years old to 30 years old and so communication and organization may not be their strong suit or top priority.
The Solution
We wanted our app to be affective at what it does but also not boring to use or look at. It was a difficult challenge to build a management app that brings agent and clients together in one platform, looking modern and vibrant was a big plus for our stakeholder. We know with our research and the brand we build, Apex is the app for ELITE Athlete Management
Went building the first iteration of our app we wanted to build with the needs of our different users in mind. We each build our own concept sketched and then we discuss it as a team and pick the best one, in this case we picked something from each concept. When I did my concept sketches, I was thinking of keeping the most important things up front. I wanted the to-do list and daily task up front and center for the clients. When new revealed our sketches, I was pleased to see my teammates and I were on the same page.
Next, we did our moodboard, we really wanted to hit our attributes. We tested our moodboard and we were not getting the results we wanted. The results were completely off so we decided to build another one to hit the marks. The moodboard will create our color palette, which we will use to design the app. The new moodboard look and feel different and the results aligned nicely with our attributes.

we build our mid-fi based on our lo-fi. We did not make any changes because we did test our lo-fi, we made changes to make more user friendly and accessible.
We tested our mid-fi through Maze, maze is an amazing software. I love using it to test wireframes, maze give you an incredible amount of quantitative. We had 7 testers with a 93% success rate on both flows with some useful feedback from the users.

When we were creating our hi-fi we wanted to create an app that would connect the agent and their clients on a whole new level. This project was really challenging, we had to think outside the box while keeping accessibility in mind. I am proud of this achievement, and I am looking forward to using the knowledge I gain to further my career as a UX/UI designer.
